1) The Concept Development Phase :
- Visual planning / Storyboarding - rapid ideation of a visual story, guided by a script
- Mood boards or reference images to define visual style.
Result: A storyboard with hand-drawn sketches that shows shot composition, timing, and sequence with actions described in shot descriptions.
2) 3d Asset Preparation
Using a mix of 2D and 3D tools, I'll prepare the 3d model assets:
- Create animatable models from your 3d CAD, 2d drawings, or photo reference.
- Build appropriate surrounding environments based on the concept.
- Add surface materials and textures to the models.
- Model rigging, if required moving components are setup to enable animated motion or articulation of the subject.
Result: Rendered still images will be provided for visual review and approval.
3) Animation
Stage 1 (Based on approved storyboard)
- Animate motion of subject
- Setup cameras to capture key details
- If required, setup initial particle or material systems
Result: A rough cut animation, or animatic that shows all the required motion involved in the shots, with preliminary on-screen text or voiceover as required by the project.
Stage 2 (Following approved rough cut)
- Setup lighting, finalize particle effect simulations
- Render animation shots at draft quality and resolution
- Add onscreen text and motion graphics animation (as required)
- Refined video edit timing to match music soundtrack and voiceover (if required)
Result: Draft versions of the complete video will be delivered as shots are completed, giving you the opportunity to give feedback, and approve clips for rendering at final quality and resolution.
4. Final Draft / Post-Production
- Render animation shots at full quality and resolution
- Incorporate shots into final edit
- Add sound effects (if required)
Result: Delivery of final video file(s)
